New treasures From the Treasure Chest

Greetings everyone! My apologies for not posting much as of late, I have been working quite a bit and haven't had much time. However, yesterday I was able to finally get out and check out some new items for my Mermaid Tree this year. SO excited to be able to share them with you! ...

As well as the mermaid ornaments, I also found three dragons  - Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion ...

Dragons: To follow or not to follow

"Dragons are intelligent, more intelligent than men according to some maesters. They have affection for their friends and fury for their enemies." ― Tyrion Lannister

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I began reading about dragon lore a short time after I realized that I was not only born in The Year of the Dragon, but, inadvertently, that my chosen craft name had somewhat of a connection to them.

Recently; however, I have been hearing a lot about a tradition called, "Draconic Wicca." Now, I have been an ecclectic Wiccan practitioner for 25 years and as intriguing as this concept sounds, I honestly have no desire to incorporate dragons into my everyday practice. From what I have read in regards to it thus far, Draconic Wicca is fairly complex and, as with any disciplined practice, requires a lot of time and patience. There can be no self-doubt nor question what-so-ever in your mind that this is the path you wish and that what you are doing is absolutely necessary and for the good of all concerned (sound a bit familiar to any fellow Wiccans out there?). Furthermore, it requires a lot of self-reflection before even considering the idea of actually working with dragons ...

"Dragons will not work with a practitioner that ignores them. But one, who follows them to the best of their ability, earns the respect of Dragons and will have no problem working with them." ~ from the 'Draconic Code of Honor'

Charming mermaid socks and GOT t-shirt

Just a little quick post. Charming Charlie has these cute mermaid socks in stock as well as many other really cool mermaid and beach merchandise! Soft and comfy, they are fun to wear at bedtime.

And I found a cool GoT "Mother of Dragons" t-shirt on sale at our local FYE store ...

I also saw these for sale online, but just a word of warning ... the ladies shirts run VERY small so if you normally take a size medium, you might be smart to go with an XL instead.

Dragons anyone?

Greetings everyone! As you can see by the name of my blog, I am both a mermaid AND dragon enthusiast! One of my absolute favorite television shows is "Game of Thrones." From the very first season, I fell in love with author George R. R. Martin's character of Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons who is strong, beautiful and compassionate.

I just wanted to share a few cool pics I found from the series and such.  Hope you all enjoy and Brightest Blessings!

Her "children" Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion

Mhysa, "mother"

Ahh, to ride the dragon's back!
"Dracarys!" ~ A counterpart phrase, valar dohaeris, is translated as "all men must serve." The word dracarys is translated as meaning "dragonfire." Obsidian is called "dragonglass" in the Common Tongue, but "frozen fire" in High Valyrian. Valonqar is the word for "little brother."

As Tyrion prepared to release Rhaegal and Viserion — the two remaining dragons in Meereen — from the dungeon Daenerys locked them in back in season four, he forced himself to believe they would know he was trying to help them. “Dragons are intelligentThey have affection for their friends and fury for their enemies."
